We have created a new, progressively motivated organization to provide unfiltered and non-censored voice and visibility to the issues, expression, culture and politics of young people around the world. We see media and culture as an important and untapped tool for social change.

The Coalition to Stop the Demolitions would like to thank all of our allies and supporters throughout the United States and the world who came and stood with us in New Orleans or took action on the streets of your city, or who called, emailed, or faxed the New Orleans City Council, Mayor Ray Nagin, Senator Vitter, the Senate Banking Committee members, etc. Your support played a pivotal role in helping us attain the victories we accomplished last week in halting the demolition of three of the four major public housing locations in New Orleans.

The Game ...

New Orleans City Council will vote to continue the displacement of Black and working class families Thursday when it rubber stamps the demolition of almost 4,000 desperately needed apartments. New Orleans already has a homeless population in excess of 12,000, and by March there will be more than 50,000 families evicted from closing FEMA trailer parks. The only legitimate solution is to reopen all available housing now.
