We are cultural and media activists with a devotion to justice and peace. We have created a new, progressively motivated organization to provide unfiltered and non-censored voice and visibility to the issues, expression, culture and politics of young people around the world. We see media and culture as an important and untapped tool for social change.

Karl Carter Karl is a native of Washington, D.C., and a graduate of George Washington University, where he specialized in electronic media marketing. With 17 years of experience, an entrepreneurial spirit and a penchant for doing things differently, Karl is considered to be an expert guerrilla marketer. Karl headed Burrell’s creative marketing department, where he pioneered “guerrilla media.” While at Burrell he worked on the Truth antismoking campaign, for which he created and produced the nationally syndicated radio show, truth.FM. Soon after the launch of the Truth campaign, Karl and his partners started the award-winning guerrilla marketing agency GTM Inc.
After going to South Africa with Black August in 2001 for the world conference on racism, Karl had a chance to see first hand the impact of hip hop and street culture on activism. Along with other GTM partners, Karl co-founded Change The Game (CTG). CTG’s mission is to use culture and technology to market civic participation and activism among youth and young adults with the goal of fostering a generation of socially conscious politically involved people. Change The Game’s team includes cultural and media activists with a devotion to justice and peace. They see media and culture as an important and untapped tool for social change. Karl’s & GTM’s reputation as forward thinking, ears-to-the-street social marketers got them connected to former Vice President Al Gore and the launch of Current TV. Current TV is the first user-generated national network created by, for and with an 18-to-34-year-old audience, inviting them to change the paradigm of television by becoming active collaborators. Current TV is one of the most successful TV network launches in history, going from 18 million to 48 million homes globally in less than 2 years and TV Week named it the most successful new network ever launched. In 2006 , Al Gore & Current TV received Brandweek’s Guerrilla marketing Campaign of the Year. In 2007, Current TV won an Interactive Emmy. Karl was given the first ever Ad Color Innovator award by a distinguished panel of advertising and media industry leaders. |
